Changes in Grepton’s ownership structure
2/11/2009

On 29 January 2009 New Frontier Holding GmbH bought a 51% majority stake in Grepton Informatics Zrt.This was New Frontier Holding’s fifth investment, following the Czech Profinit and the Romanian Romsys in the fourth quarter of 2007, the Slovak Cogent in October 2008 and the Hungarian XAPT in November 2008.

New Frontier chose Grepton because the abilities and expertise of its staff enable the company to offer complex solutions, system integration and outsourced services on the Hungarian market, and it is in firm partnership with key players such as Microsoft, Oracle and ELO. Thanks to joining the New Frontier Group Grepton has become a member of a large organisation which, according to our strategy, will cover the entire Central Eastern European region. In this way Grepton will be able to cater to the needs of clients in several countries and to introduce systems extending to several countries. As part of this transaction New Frontier Holding signed long-term agreements with Grepton’s present owners and top management, in accordance with which the management and development of the company continues to be their task.

“Already at the very outset we had expected growth in Grepton, which was realised in the first period with great success but later, as the company grew in regard to the number of employees and its income from sales, further growth significantly slowed down. It became clear that organic growth would not be enough to realise our strategy and that we needed external help, i.e. a partner. In the past 5-6 years a number of businesses had showed interest in becoming our partners and our task was to wait for the most favourable opportunity. We said yes to NFH because it is built on a concept we can identify with, it does business in our region and not only can we contribute to building business in the region but the holding relies on our professional knowledge,” said András Süli, one of Grepton’s board members.
